If you are interested in trying Kendo this is the place to go! Kendo is a wonderful workout, sport, and martial art practiced all over the world and at Charlotte Kendo Club you really get to experience that. I started practicing a year and a half ago and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. Everyone at the club welcomes newcomers. I was looking for a martial art that was a community, inexpensive, and a good workout. I also wanted something I could practice for the rest of my life. I found all this and more at CKC. We have several 5 dan or above sensei which is quite rare. Our club is also one of the largest individual clubs in the southeast US. All of this is to say that you will get excellent instruction and join an amazing community if you train here. Dues are also very reasonable for a martial art. Most martial arts cost hundreds a month, but Charlotte Kendo Club dues are currently only $50 pp/month, with discounts for children and families. If you do join us, be prepared to yell, sweat, and be sore the next day. Kendo isn't as easy as just swinging a shinai haha. Can't recommend this club enough.

Great for young people and very welcoming to people of moderate to high physical fitness. I really appreciate everything I have learned and the people I have met through this program. A very good space for students looking for a recreational sport with a rich cultural background.
